One month from now begins the annual Medicare Annual Enrollment Period or Annual Election Period from October 15 to December 7. During this time, you can join, change or drop a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Part D Prescription Drug Plan.
You Can:
– Change from Original Medicare (Parts A & B) to a Medicare Advantage Plan.
– Change from a Medicare Advantage Plan back to Original Medicare (Parts A & B).
– Switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to a different Medicare Advantage Plan.
– Switch from a Medicare Advantage Plan that doesn’t offer drug coverage to one that does offer drug coverage.
– Switch from a Medicare Advantage Plan that offers drug coverage to one that doesn’t offer drug coverage.
– Join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Part D).
– Switch from one Medicare Prescription Drug Plan to another Medicare Prescription Drug Plan.
– Drop your Medicare prescription drug coverage completely.
You may make more than one election during this period. Your final election during this AEP is the one that counts. The last election (or only election) made will be effective January 1.
